I just got home from a really nice dinner with work people at Tiamo 2 in Lygon Street. Good stuff.
But I digress...
11. I really love all things cultural- books, music, film, art.
12. Politically, I am definitely left-wing.
13. I take baths, not showers.

14. I am happy in my own company and need my own space. I don't really bother with people that I don't like. I take long walks a few times a week to clear my head.
15. I used to sing. I was never great, but I was good. I regret that I haven't kept it up since high school. I'd like to get back into it in some form or another.
16. I don't consider myself particularly 'Australian'. Apparently I don't talk 'Australian' either- I often get asked where my accent is from. I'm fascinated by other cultures and sometimes feel a bit neutral having only an Australian and British background.
17. I love sex. (Did I just say that?)
18. I would say I'm cynical and somewhat pessimistic by nature. It works for me most of the time. (Although I sometimes get depressed).
19. When I was 10 or 11 my friends and I used to have sleepovers in our underwear. I can't remember the significance of this, but I do remember it was very important to wear a crop top as opposed to a singlet top, even though we were flat as ironing boards. Weird.
20. At this very moment, I am happy with my life and where I'm at. Things just seem to be falling into place somehow.
Ok, so that's me.
I tag Deb and Candice.
Go!
Oh, and one more thing:

I'm going to miss this show. Just another example of a good show that ended before its time, like Grosse Pointe or Freaks and Geeks. Sigh.

I really liked your list :) I have just completed mine too, was tagged by a friend a week ago. LOL@cropped tops!
=^..^=
In terms of number 11, your taste in films and music is for the most part very good (at least from my perspective). However I have to say that I DESPISE Garden State; I found it quite offensive in the way it dealt with mental illness.
I don't know whether you heard this, but a few months ago The Get up Kids announced that they are breaking up. Did you see them when Saves the Day and them were in Australia last year? My friend, who went along with me and who isn't a fan of them, said they were the best band he has seen live. I don't know if I'd go that far, but they would be in my top 5 bands I've seen live. Great variety and great energy.
Oh, and I'm also like your number 18. No that's not right, I am VERY pessimistic by nature, not somewhat.
Alright, I think Ill start my part 2 tonight. I like your list, it gives me good ideas, although Ive never heard of those TV shows. hehe
Thanks for that kiddo, i'll get on it!
So, whos going to buy erin's gift? I thought it would be easier if one of us just did and the other gave them half. I dont mind doing it, just let me know.
Also, what size you rekon she is? Shes pretty small down bottom but could be larger up top?
hehe. Wouldnt it be funny if she read this?
xxx
Thanks for the comments guys!
Good karma to all of you this saturday arvo.
Aleks:
Thanks for liking my movies. Years of movie watching has gone into that list. I really love Garden State, but I can see where your coming from. It seems to incite a love or hate response in people.
I had heard the Get Up Kids broke up. Sad to see them go, but I can appreciate that they were nearing [in?] their thirties and having families and that it was time to wind up.
I saw them at the Metro too. I thought both bands were really good but I don't really like The Metro as a live music venue. It's too big and the acoustics suck. I would have preferred them to see them play at The Corner or The Hi-Fi.
In terms of being pessimistic, the 'somewhat' was definitely an afterthought, but I put it in due to my number 20- right now, I'm feeling optimistic about a lot of stuff, although my pessimistic side is definitely waiting in the wings to show up when needed.
i love your list!
i can agree/flow/understand/whatever other word that would come of as understanding would go here with this list. well...except for the accent part. i just speak english ;)
Are the Get up Kids winding up to spend more time with their families, or to work on other projects eg. Reggie and the Full Affect and The New Amsterdams?
Hmmm... I think a bit of both Aleks-
I'm pretty sure at least a couple of them have kids, but it does mention on Wikipedia that they're ALL involved in side-projects too, so you're right- its not just to spend time with their families.
This is from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Get_Up_Kids
"Every member of The Get Up Kids is involved in some sort of side project. In 1999, keyboardist James Dewees' side project, Reggie and the Full Effect, released the debut album Greatest Hits 1984-1987. They have since released three other albums: Promotional Copy, Under the Tray, and Songs Not to Get Married To. In 2000, singer/guitarist Matthew Pryor's acoustic side project, the New Amsterdams, released the album Never You Mind. In 2001 they released Para Toda Vida, followed by Worse for the Wear in 2003.
The Pope brothers have been playing in Koufax, and Jim Suptic has formed a new band called Blackpool Lights. Most Recently, Matt Pryor has been working on a series of childrens songs, to be accompanied by a story book for children. The Project is tentatively titled The Terrible Twos."
I liked your list Susanne, I'm really enjoying reading peoples lists I need to tag a few more people.
I'm definitely with you on #16.
My accent is a weird mix of Australian, English and American, due to growing up in Adelaide with Melbourne-born parents who were sticklers for good grammar and annunciation, spending a long period of time in the USA and the UK and having two best friends who are from New York and Essex respectively.
I also get into trouble for mixing up 'zucchini' and 'courgette'.
Baths are the best Victorian invention still in use today. Who says progress is good
I also used to sing. It's sad how we give up the things we enjoy the most...
That's true, I've been having a look to your blog and you're not that 'aussie'. That's unusual with you guys.
It's all good. xx.
