This is my city as seen by Shag.

It's a bit inaccurate. The city is actually in the opposite direction and where the people are sitting is now a shopping centre where I worked at a bottle shop for a while.

It's cool to see your home town represented in art though.

I'm off to Falls tonight. It'll be above 30 degrees the three days I'm there and I don't deal with the heat that well so hopefully I'll be ok.

I'm really excited though, I love Falls.

See you in 2006,

Susanne

The Year in Review

Thanks to Meg for this list.

I like it. It's a nice little year-wrap-up thing if anyone else wants to do it.

2005- A Year In Review

1) Was 2005 a good year for you?

Yes it was.

2) What was your favourite moment of the year?

I had lots of favourite moments this year- visiting Scotland, Deb's hen's night and wedding, visiting Adelaide with my family, the Gimme Shelter nights and boat cruise, my Contiki reunion, my work Christmas party and a recent night out with the boyfriend (see last post).

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?

There were times when I was really stressed out over uni. Also, it took me a while to get used to being back in Melbourne after six months overseas in 2004. I got quite sick in November too, which is never fun.

4) Where were you when 2005 began?

I was in Edinburgh, Scotland at Hogmanay.

I spent New Year's Day visiting Edinburgh Castle and later partying with other young antipodeans at night. Edinburgh was very cold and windy and it snowed, but it was wonderful. What an amazing start to the year.

5) Who were you with?

A bunch of other young Aussie/Kiwi/Saffa backpackers doing a MacBackpackers tour of Scotland

6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?

The Falls Festival in Lorne. I can't wait. I always have the best New Years there.

7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?

The boyfriend , my two high school best friends and a few [thousand] others.

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006?

I haven't given it much thought yet, but I'd like to have more fun next year. I took myself far too seriously at times this year. I'd also like to take better care of my appearance.

10) Did you fall in love in 2005?

Yes.

11) If yes, with who?

Quinn.

12) If yes, do they know?

Yes.

14) You regret it?

Not at all.

15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?

Not really. I was on and off with the boy for a while.

16) Did you make any new friends in 2005?

I did. In particular, I've got a great bunch of workmates that make my monotonous casual job fun.

17) Who are your favorite new friends?

All my workmates, especially Mandy, Kym and Katherine.

18) What was your favorite month of 2005?

No month really sticks out... maybe December?

19) Did you travel outside of the Australia in 2005?

I came back to Australia in January, so just Scotland and England at the end of my trip.

20) How many different states did you travel to in 2005?

Three. Victoria, NSW and SA.

21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2005?

My dog Sandy. :(

22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?

I'd say everyone that I met overseas.

23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?

Sin City.

24) What was your favorite song from 2005?

Hmmm... maybe Lior 'This Old Love'. I adore that song.

25) What was your favorite record from 2005?

I don't have one.

26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?

Quite a few, but still not as many as I would have liked to. I went to the Big Day Out, which had The Beastie Boys, The Donnas, Le Tigre, The Hives, Little Birdy etc., as well as The Beautiful Girls, Gyroscope, Tiger Army, Royal Crown Revue/ Mad Caddies, MxPx/ Motion City Soundtrack, Hot Hot Heat, Lior, Living End/ Dallas Crane, 67 Special, Zombie Ghost Train, and I'm off to see the Fireballs tonight.

27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?

Probably Lior at the Evelyn.

28) did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?

Not really, no. I got all that out of my system in my teens.

29) did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?

No.

30) How many people did you sleep with in 2005??

One.

31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?

Nothing comes to mind.

32) What was the worst lie you told someone in 2005?

I can't think of anything.

33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?

I probably don't know about it.

34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?

Yes, and I'm sorry about it.

35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2005?

Not really.

36) How much money did you spend in 2005?

Not that much. I spent more last year when I travelled overseas.

37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?

Doing well at uni. I worked hard for it, but it was worth it.

38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?

Nothing that bad. I fell literally into the gutter after the Christmas party last Friday but it was dark and everyone else was drunk too so who cares?

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and change what happened, would you?

No. I'm not a perfect person, and I make mistakes, but all those things make me who I am today. I am a stronger person for having faults and attempting to overcome them.

40) What are your plans for 2006?

I'm planning to do my honours year in English Literature and (hopefully) move out of home. I want to read more, watch more movies and go out more. I want to keep up my blog and my journal.

Phew, that's it. If you've read this far, all that's left now is to say Merry Christmas, dear reader. Don't eat too much on Christmas day, you will only regret it and feel sick later. Thanks for checking out the blog too. I love getting comments, so leave them. Like the ubiquitous Metcard, it makes me feel validated.

Long time no write

So how is December treating everyone?

Mine's been good so far; working a bit, partying a bit, catching up on sleep.

Since my last entry I've:

-Visited the Art Gallery to see the British Art and the 60s Exhibition:

(This last one freaked me out- the gloves inflate and deflate and move around)

-Been to the first of two work Christmas Parties. The first was a big BBQ and piss-up at my boss's house; the second, on tonight, will be a more formal and upmarket piss-up at Docklands. I had a great time at the first one so I'm looking forward to tonight's. We had a Christmas Brekkie this morning too.

-Thought about getting a tattoo- I don't know what or where yet, but I quite like swallows in the 'Sailor Jerry' style like this:

-Had a really fun night out in St Kilda with the boyfriend. We stayed here:

Ate here:

And drank here:

Amazingly enough, its still going really well- we've been 'official' for over a month now. :)

I think I'll do some kind of wrap-up of the year soon. If I don't write before Chrissy, Merry Christmas to everyone. Sorry for not writing for so long. Thanks to the blogger who emailed me saying Hi. (You know who you are.)
