10 things I love Sunday

1. Momiji dolls are a British version of Japanese kokeshi dolls, and like many Japanese-inspired products, are ridiculously cute.

2. Janelle Monae's song Tightrope. I love her distinct androgynous-yet-feminine hair and style, too.

6. Snow! Living in Japan I've experienced the longest, coldest winter of my life, but every time it snows it still seems exciting and magical to me.

8. Strawberry season! The part of Japan I live in (Wakayama) is famous for fruit and the seasonal fruit is so good and tasty.

9. My favourite red velvet cupcakes are the ones made by Cupcake Central, but since I'm thousands of kilometres away from Melbourne, I made my own. Mine didn't turn out very red, but they tasted great!

10 things I love Sunday

1. Say cheese Hai cheezu t-shirt from botodesigns

2. SS Tandem Necklace from Polli. If you look closely you can see it's a tandem bicycle with a dog and a basket with a bottle of wine and a baguette.

3. Marina + Andy's Wedding in Stop Motion by Bayly & Moore. Love the stop motion photography, love the vintage style of their wedding, love the Melbourne setting. Love, love, love!

4. Mindy's Kaling's book, Is everyone hanging out without me? It took me a little while to get into the short essay style of the book, but it totally works. Inspiring, insightful and very funny, she reminds me of a young Tina Fey.

 5. M1 Camera Hive from SigniCase. Now I just need an iPhone!

6. Unexpectedly finding a hip cafe with great coffee in the inaka (countryside) town next to mine. If for some crazy reason you find yourself in Iwade, Wakayama, Japan, do seek out Favorite Trunk.

 7. The papercuts of madebyjulene. So beautiful!

8. Orla Kiely scarves at Uniqlo

 9.  I adore Gotye and Kimbra. This song deserves its massive success, including first place on Triple J's hottest 100.

10. Peach, Japan's first low cost carrier starts flying in March. About time, Japan!
